Bob Marx

In the immortal words of famed author Mark Twain, "a person who has a cat by the tail knows a whole lot more about cats than someone that has only read about them," is a fitting introduction to the career and lifetime marketing experience of Bob Marx. For some 30 years Marx has made a career of developing and implementing successful, innovative and strategic marketing programs. Programs that have proven themselves to locate, acquire and retain loyal customers - for any size and any type of business.

Bob has worked in the tourism and hospitality industry for most of his career, moving a number of times across the United States for various senior level sales and marketing positions. He has worked in the hotel industry for Sheraton Hotels, for American Airlines and for convention bureaus in San Jose and Bakersfield, the latter as President/CEO, marketing these California destinations to tourists and convention planners around the world. Bob also was a business owner for 18 years developing a highly successful, multi-million dollar boutique marketing communications firm with two interstate offices.

While self-employed Marx began speaking to numerous groups, companies and meetings on relevant marketing topics and developed a flourishing business educating others on the significance and benefits of an integrated marketing effort. This was in addition to his collegiate teaching in numerous marketing topics within various universities, including Georgia State, Auburn, University of Massachusetts and Northwood University. Marx also took time off from his business to work on the marketing committee of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, where he coordinated worldwide advertising.

As a professional platform speaker and marketing consultant Bob works with businesses and groups, both large and small to "edutain" (educate and entertain) their members and staff in the development of a consistent and relentless customer-centric focus through marketing strategies and principles, customer service and best practices. He has spoken to meetings and seminars held by many renowned corporate titans such as Toyota North America, Johnson & Johnson, Ritz Carlton Hotels and Marriott Corporation, among many other trade associations and businesses.

Marx has been certified as a Hospitality Industry Professional by the Georgia Hospitality & Travel Association, as well as received the unique distinction of Certified Business Analyst by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Florida. He has also received both a Masters and Doctorate degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in Marketing.
